US Indie Film Makers v ISPs and P2P Users
An association of independent film producers, the US Copyright Group, has brought legal action in the US against thousand of 'John Doe' P2P/Torrent users who allegedly infringed their movies. Relying on German Guardaley IT monitoring software (a program that allows for real-time monitoring of BitTorrent downloads, capturing the IP addresses of those in swarms trading copyright material), the Group is expected to launch up to 30,000 law suits in the coming weeks.
