You will remember that E-Bay bought Skype from its founders Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis in 2005 for $2.6 billion in up-front cash and eBay stock, plus potential performance-based consideration.

In September 2009 the two founders had filed a copyright lawsuit against Skype in the United States District Court of Northern California, following the announcement by eBay that it would sell most of Skype for $1.9 billion to a consortium of investors led by the private equity firm Silver Lake Partners. Basically Joltid, a company owned by the Skype founders, claims that eBay violated copyright law by altering and sharing the peer-to-peer source code behind the free Internet calling service.
