Settlement with Freelance Writers

The Canadian Press announces that a tentative settlement worth more than $5 million has been reached in a lawsuit between freelance authors and some of Canada's biggest publishers. We understand that the case alleged that the defendants (including big Canadian newspapers) infringed on the copyright of freelance writers who wrote articles and other literary works.
