Settlement Between Apple and Psystar on Mac Clones

An interesting case about Steve Jobs’s worst nightmare: non Apple machines running Mac OS. A ‘partial settlement’ has just been reached in a US copyright infringement lawsuit that Apple had filed against Psystar in July 2008. Since then, Psystar has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Apple alleged that Psystar, which sells computers that run Apple’s Macintosh operating system (Mac OS), had started selling Mac clones fitted with OS X. Apple contended that, as per its end user license, the Mac OS can be installed only on Apple computers.
