YPEE, a unit of the Greek Ministry of Finance, charged with the investigation of fiscal crimes, announced that it seized more than 100.000 packs of counterfeit cigarettes, after raiding a warehouse at the suburbs of Athens. YPEE estimates that the group running the illegal operation have sold approximately 3 million packs of counterfeit cigarettes in the last 16 months, which accounts for roughly 9 million euros in lost state re venue form taxes and tariffs. No arrests were made, there was noone found in warehouse, at the time of the raid.
