On the Forthcoming Apple - Google Thermonuclear Patent War
SF Gate reports that Steve Jobs was ready to go to "thermonuclear war" with Google Inc. rather than make deals to share its technology with them. In the 18 months before Jobs died on Oct. 5 2011, Apple sued HTC, Samsung Electronics and Motorola Mobility (the three largest Android platform manufacturers) over alleged stealing of Apple's technology. Now, as court rulings start coming in siding with Apple, some think that it might be time for a detente that helps Apple maximize the value of its patents. Competitors can often devise workarounds.
