No copyright protection for football fixtures lists
The Israeli Supreme Court has held that the FA Premier League's fixture lists do not qualify for copyright protection as tables or compilations. In the landmark decision, issued on 14 March 2010, the court opined that the lists do not possess sufficient originality in the selection and arrangement of the information they contain. The case was brought by the FA Premier League against Sports Betting Board, the only body licensed to conduct sports betting in Israel. Premier League argued that by using the information contained in the fixtures lists, Sports Betting Board infringed Premier League's copyright.
