New Strategy for Warner in Europe
Warner has announced its intention to make its films available to cable television subscribers in the UK, Germany and France on the same day the titles are released on DVD; The studio is keen to promote Video on Demand (VoD) because it promotes better returns than the declining DVD market. While DVD sales are down in the US, rental revenues are up. Warner is encouraging other players to join in with limited success so far. Rival studioes are exploring new ways of delivering films to consumers to revive DVD sales.
