New Zealand: ACTA, End of Round 9
We understand that Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) will not make the "three strikes" laws (to disconnect persistent copyright infringers from the internet) a requirement. The eighth round of negotiations on the international treaty concluded in Wellington late on Friday 16 April evening. ACTA treaty partners agreed they would release a draft of the treaty as it stands on Thursday 22 April, New Zealand time, following complaints from users advocates that the negotiations were taking place in secret.
