New Copyright Bill in Canada (C-32)

This week the Canadian government published its Bill C-32 (Copyright Modernization Act), which aims to revamp national copyright legislation and add new rules specifically dealing with internet-based infringement and digital rights management.

This follows intense lobbying from content providers (in particular US) directed at Canada, a country considered by many as a copyright infringement safe haven (partly due to Canadian's judge relative leniency toward digital infringements).
