The Dutch Pirate Party announced on Saturday, in its first publicly accessible board meeting, that in wants to run in the 2010 parliamentary elections, which will take place on 9 June. It will need to overcome some hurdles before then, however. It still needs to collect approximately €12.000 to cover expenses and be able to register a list of candidates with the Elections Committee.

According to it's website, the Pirate Party wants to limit the duration of copyright to five years, legalise non-commercial copying of copyright protected material and create a 'non lethal system of patents', as well as stand up for constitutional [...]
