Netherlands: 'Pirate Party' to take part in Dutch parliamentary elections
The Dutch Pirate Party announced on Saturday, in its first publicly accessible board meeting, that in wants to run in the 2010 parliamentary elections, which will take place on 9 June. It will need to overcome some hurdles before then, however. It still needs to collect approximately €12.000 to cover expenses and be able to register a list of candidates with the Elections Committee. According to it's website, the Pirate Party wants to limit the duration of copyright to five years, legalise non-commercial copying of copyright protected material and create a 'non lethal system of patents', as well as stand up for constitutional [...]
