Music Copyright Dispute over Bollywood Flick

Outlook India.com reported on 13th May 2010 that the Calcutta High Court allowed that day the cinematic use of the hit song of the 1981 "Apne To Jayse Tayse" of Amitabh Bachchan-starrer movie "Lawaris" in the recently released Bollywood movie "Housefull".

In an interim order staying the injunction given by a trial court (prohibiting the use of this song in the movie), a division bench comprising Chief Justice M S Shah and Justice K J Sengupta directed that the song could be shown in the film which is running at many theatres across India and abroad.
