Business Standard reported on 14th May 2010 (see HERE) that after Puneri "Pagadi" (local turban), Solapur's "chadar" and "towels", Yeola's "Paithani" (variety of sari), "Alphonso mangoes" of Konkan, "Nashik grapes and wine", it is now Mahabaleshwar's "Strawberries" turn to join the prestigious list of Geographical Indications (GI)  after receiving the registration from the Ministry of Commerce.
