Limewire's P2P Shut Down by Federal Injunction
Lime Group, the company behind the most popular P2P software Limewire and its founder Mark Gorton were found guilty of copyright infringement in May 2010 by the federal district court for the Southern District of New York (see our related news HERE). This time the court issued an injunction shutting down of Limewire's website (see the legal notice now posted on the site HERE). This constitutes a major victory for the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America, i.e. record companies) against the #1 P2P application.
