Jobs Dolls Legal In Most US States Except Indiana
The UK newspaper The Daily Telegraph caused a fuss last week when it reported that Apple had threatened legal action against a Chinese company that plans to sell an eerie replica of late Steve Jobs. The Daily Telegraph said Apple claims to own rights to Jobs’ likeness. Whether this is true or not, this raises serious legal issues as under American law, so-called “personality rights” exist only at the state level (i.e. not at a federal law level).
