Is China's Intent to Crackdown Copyright Piracy Smoke and Mirrors?
On Tuesday China announced its intention to adopt a tougher approach against copyright infringement, an issue that recently added to tensions between Beijing and Washington. This is not the first time that China makes such promises and its enforcement system still appears inadequate to tackle the growing infringement phenomena. Two years ago the United States complaint to the World Trade Organization that China was violating its trade commitments by failing to root out IP infringement.
