IBM - the world's most inventive company?

The Economic Times on 14th January 2011 reports that Global IT giant IBM  received 5,896 patents in the US in 2010, topping the list of world's most inventive companies for the 18th consecutive year.

According to the IFI Patent Intelligence, which maintains US patent databases, IBM received a record 5,896 US patents in 2010.

Samsung with 4,551 patents took the second position, followed by Microsoft which had 3,094 patents last year.
