HUL & Unilever enter into Trademark Licence Agreement.
The Times of India recently reported that Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) has entered into a fresh trademark licence agreement with its parent company, Unilever, under which the Indian subsidiary will pay royalty of 1% on net sales of specific brands whose trademark is owned by the Anglo-Dutch parent company. So far, HUL used to pay royalty of 1% on the net sales of the products for whose manufacturing Unilever's technology was used. The company had entered into a technical collaboration agreement with Unilever to this effect for a period of 24 years in 1999.
