Hot News Misappropriation in Barcap v Fly On The Wall

On 18 March 2010, the US District Court for the Southern District of New York had to decide a case of hot news misappropriation between several investment plaintiffs in the banking industry (Morgan Stanley, Barclays Capital, etc.) and the subscription financial news service Fly On the Wall that aggregated and published the plaintiffs' research analysts' stock recommendations along with many other items of varying interest to investors.
