The MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America that include Disney Enterprises Inc., Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp., Universal City Studios Productions LLP, Columbia Pictures Industries Inc. and Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.) filed a copyright infringement lawsuit in a Miami federal court against Hotfile Corp that operates the site Hotfile.com (one of the leading P2P sites). The MPAA argues that the site “facilitates the theft of copyrighted motion picture and television properties on a staggering scale and profits handsomely from encouraging and providing the means for massive copyright infringement.”
