Fordham University in New York has just launched a Fashion law Institute, acknowledging that whether the laws applying to the fashion industry were not are any different, the lawyer had to speak the same language as his clients. Headed by professor Susan Scafidi, it is the first course in fashion law and it will focus on the five most important aspects of the law as they apply to fashion designers: intellectual property, business and finance, international trade and government regulation.
