Europe: European Parliament wants more information on ACTA Treaty

The European Parliament has, with an overwhelming majority of 633 to 13, voted in favour of a resolution demanding more information from the European Commission about the upcoming Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement, or ACTA.

The ACTA is meant to battle the sale of counterfeit articles on the internet, and negotiations between (among others) the EU and the US have been taking place behind closed doors for the past years. However, documents that were leaked earlier seem to suggest strict measures against copyright infringement.
