EU-India free trade deal 'will hurt AIDS patients'
EurActive reported on 08 April 2010 about the Free Trade Agreement entered between the European Union and India. A new Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and India could make it more difficult for the world's poorest patients to access antiretroviral drugs, according to humanitarian aid group, Médecins Sans Frontières. The EU is concerned that cheap medicines from Asia will distort the pharmaceutical market in the developed world, hitting the profitability of companies and discouraging investment in innovation.
