The ASEAN (Association of SouthEast Asian nations) and the European Patent Office are working hand in hand to build a strategic relationship.

The EPO understands Asian countries' need to put in place a modern intellectual property system everyone's benefit.

The collaboration between Vietnam and the EPO is not new and has been going on for ten years. It was instrumental in the adoption of the 2005 Vietnamese IP statute.
