England: Pink Floyd Can Sing Again 'Money get back I'm all right Jack'

 As a follow up to Tuesday hearing between Pink Floyd and EMI their longtime record label (see prior IP News this week), we learn that London High Court judge Andrew Morritt ruled for Pink Floyd, finding that their 1999 agreement with EMI was designed to “preserve the artistic integrity of the albums.”

EMI’s argument that the contract allowed them to unbundle the songs on the album so that they could offer them for individual download over the internet was therefore rejected.

We also understand that this case has been running for over one year, that Pink Floyd was also awarded 60,000 sterling to cover its court costs and that EMI was refused the right [...]
