Content Industries: Between New Business Model and Lobbying in Washington
In a concerted lobbying effort launched last month a wide coalition representing US movie, TV and music industries and labor groups urged the federal government to bolster its efforts to protect IP and protect the jobs and wages lost because of content theft. This came as a reponse to a consultation by White House’s Office of Intellectual Property Enforcement. One of the industry’s message was that in order for them to fully embrace new online content distribution models, the issue of theft had to be addressed urgently.
