Madonna may have sung a hit song of the same name in the 1980s, nevertheless this does nothing to deter a clothing maker, LA Triumph, for filing a lawsuit against the singer, who created a clothing lines bearing the same name. The clothing maker alleges that they have been using the “Material Girl" trademark since 1997 to sell similar clothes and therefore wants Madonna to cease using the name and give all profits of the sales from her clothing range.
