Clear the 750,000 Patent Backlog

With a current backlog of 750,000 applications yet to be decided, the whole US patent system is under pressure. Considering its importance to innovation, investors and economic growth, it is unsurprising that a top Commerce Department official Tuesday made a pledge to unclog the country’s patent office.
