Canadian Copyright Reform Expected
The Canadian federal government will soon unveil its latest version of legislation to modernize Canada's copyright laws. This is expected to be a dramatic of the Canadian copyright system to adapt the law to new technologies and the digital age. The reform has been in the pipeline since 2006 when the Conservatives took power and has created a fair share of lobbying between Hollywood studios, record companies and new media like Google who oppose heavy-handed legislation of the internet.
