Belgian Bill on Illegal Downloading
Belga runs a story about Belgian Senator Philippe Monfils (French speaking reform movement) who has just presented an amendment to the bill on illegal downloading. The amendment intends to sanction ISPs who do not collaborate with the administration on the issue of illegal downloading. In addition, the bill as amended provides that a court decision holding that one ISP should disable access to an infringing website would automatically apply to all other ISPs. Mr. Monfils also wants people running downloading platforms be obliged to seal deals with the collective right societies.
