E-Bay under Attack on Patents

A US company, XPRT Ventures (based in Connecticut), alleged PayPal transaction system knowingly incorporated XPRT's e-commerce online payment technology into 2003 US patents filed by E-bay, Paypal's parent company (since Paypal was acquired in 2002 by E-Bay $1.5bn acquisition). Accordingly, XPRT Ventures has served PayPal parent company eBay this week with a $3.8 billion US lawsuit in Delaware federal district court.
