AstraZeneca’s Licence & Supply Agreement with India’s Torrent Pharmaceuticals.
As reported in The Economic Times, AstraZeneca, an Anglo-Swedish drug company and the world’s No.7 pharmaceutical company, seems to be following GlaxoSmithKline and Sanofi-Aventis in seeking tie-ups with generic drug makers. With an intention to brand and market the generic drugs in many of its emerging markets where it has strong commercial footprint, AstraZeneca has entered into a Licence and Supply Agreement with India’s Ahmedabad-based Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd. for product licensing.
