Apple Corps vs Apple Computer: 30 years of litigation over trademark rights
Steve Jobs loves the Beatles. He uses their songs during Apple’s expositions and likes to compare his management team to the famous Fab Four. However, from time to time, you can wind up in court for the things you love. In this particular case, three major “rounds” between Apple Computer and Apple Corps from 1978 until 2007. The two firms fought for almost thirty years over competing trademark rights. One had to wait until 2006 for the High Court of Justice in London to give a judgment in favour of the computer firm, and until 2007 for the two companies to announce a final settlement of their conflict.
