The current draft of the ACTA Treaty has just been posted by the European Union on its site following concerns about the non-transparent character of the international rounds of negotiations (see HERE).

Opponents of the treaty point out that ACTA exports the US punitive provisions of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA) without providing balancing mechanisms such as the US fair use exception or the Supreme Court Sony-Betamax standard (i.e. asserting that technologies capable of substantial non infringement be allowed).
