| Biography | Nikolaos Volanis is a Greek lawyer specializing in intellectual property, telecommunications, information technology and data protection law. He is currently an IP/IT associate at Ballas Pelecanos LLP in Greece, and serves as legal counsel to the Greek Licensed Telecommunications Providers Association. Prior to these duties, he worked at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Law and ICT in Belgium, and at Algonet Telecom SA in Greece as a regulatory affairs manager. He holds a degree in law from the University of Athens (2002), an LL,M. in Information and Communication Technology Law from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (2005), and he is currently an LLM candidate at Columbia University, and a Phd candidate at the University of Athens. His primary interests focus on the legal and policy implications of intellectual property and data protection legislation in emerging technological platforms and services. |
